OMG Fantastic Books!

Sorry it's been so long since my last update (not that anyone but me ever sees these reviews). I've been kinda busy, but here goes:

I fell in LOVE with Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers last week.

Whispers about St. Mortain's convent float to the ears of all. Death's assassins. Punishers of the weak. Yet no one knnows exactly what happens behind the secretive walls...

Seventeen-year-old Ismae escapes from the an abusive marriage arranged by her father to the (debatable) safety of the convent of St. Mortain, where the sisters still worship the gods of old. This is where she learns she has been blessed unusual and dangerous gifts by the god of Death himself. A violent destiny unfolds itself before Ismae as she learns of her purpose- deliver to Death all those who bare the Marque.

Ismae's most important assignment lands her in Brittany's high court- straight into the lies, treason, and deception that come with the titles these lords and ladies hold. It shouldn't be much harder than a normal errand- but what will she do when Mortain Marques the man who has stolen Ismae's heart against all odds?

Then the unexpected treasure Blood Red Road by Moira Young caught my eye and eventually my heart. The unconventional spelling and lack of proper dialogue only made an even more enchanting setting for even the most critical reader to get lost in.

Saba has spent her entire life in Silverlake, a wasteland hounded by sandstorms. She is a shadow of her twin, Lugh. He is light and hope where she is darkness and suspicion. Lugh is the only saving grace in her life of scavenging through the landfills left by the Wreckers. But when her twin is taken by men cloaked in mystery atop their horses, Saba will do anything to get him back and repair her fractured world; including starting a doomed quest to get him back.

Suddenly miles away from the only home she's ever known, Saba is lost in the ugly world outside of Silverlake without Lugh. But she soon learns that she doesn't need Lugh to survive in the lawless world around her: Saba is a fierce fighter and a dangerously cunning opponent that has the power to corrupt her disturbed society from the inner circles. With the help of the dark and handsome survivor named Jack and a group of female system fighters called the Free Hawks, Saba attempts to overthgrow society as  she knows it.

And finally The Selection by Kiera Cass was pasted all over Goodreads, so how could I not read the book everyone's giving five stars?

Thirty-five girls, a swoon-worthy prince, the oppurtunity to escape the mundane path set for you since birth and become royaly. That's enough to bring out the most passive girl's competetive side. Being swept into a world of twinkling lights, flawless ballgowns, and priceless jewels would make any girl's dreams come true. Well, almost any girl's.

For America Singer, being Selected is the undoing of her fantasy land. It means leaving her childhood friend turned secret lover, Aspen, who is a caste below her, living in a castle constantly being attacked by rebels, and competing for the marriage of a surely spineless prince. All for a crown she doesn't want in the least.

But the more time America spends with the man in question, Prince Maxon, the more she begins to question the  future life she's always expected. She may even find it doesn't compare in the slightest to the future she's never dared dream of.

Weel that's all I have for today. If you only read one of these three (may God prevent any soul from making a choice like that) my personal favorite would have to be Blood Red Road. Jack happens to be the ultimate love interest, regardless of who may appear in the sequel, Rebel Heart. Check the New Release page for the date on that one.

Until the next "OMIGAWD I HAVE TO POST THIS" book,
